Space Planning That Supports Safety and Comfort
Space planning for seniors involves evaluating a living space to ensure furniture, belongings, and layouts support safety, accessibility, and daily routines. This step is essential when downsizing, or relocating.
We help clients understand what will fit, what will function best, and how to create a layout that promotes comfort and independence.
When Space Planning Is Needed
Families often need space planning support when moving into a smaller home or transitioning to senior living.
How We Plan Spaces
We begin with a personal visit to the new residence, where we measure each room noting doors, windows, vents, outlets, cable locations and the full dimensions of the space. Using these measurements, we create a scaled layout on our magnetic planning board. Together with the client, we review which furniture they wish to take and each selected piece is individually measured and placed to scale on the board, keeping in mind safety and accessibility. This allows clients to clearly see how their furniture will fit and makes it easy to adjust layouts, ensuring a thoughtful, accurate and stress-free transition.
